What’s it like living on the coast?
The MS Gulf Coast has a large diversity of people. We have a large military community in this area, and so with that, we have people from many different places. Whenever you think of Mississippi, you typically do not think of the beach. That is one of the many reasons why Coastal Mississippi and the surrounding areas provide so much value to a young family thinking of moving to the Coast. Within 30 minutes, you can be feeling the Gulf breeze while enjoying a shrimp po’boy from one of our many coastal restaurants to enjoying the country air in Wiggins, MS. Additionally, during the Spring and Fall months, you can enjoy one of our many festivals made available in our unique towns like Bay St. Louis and Ocean Springs. Although Coastal Mississippi might not have the hustle a major city might provide, keep in mind that Historic New Orleans and its amazing beignets are only an hour away! Above all, Coastal Mississippi can provide a beach atmosphere without the crowds, country living, and unique towns with a rich history.
What’s the church like?
Northwood Church is a vibrant and growing church with four locations in four different communities across Coastal Mississippi. With our newest location opened in January 2021 in Ocean Springs! We have been a church for forty years, making us a multi-generational church that has watched many families grow into leaders in the church. Besides generational, we also have multiple military bases in our community which brings in many people from different backgrounds across the US!
The mission at Northwood Church is to build Christ-centered communities that help people to know God, grow in Christ, and go in the power of the Holy Spirit until Jesus Returns! This means we as a church are dedicated to seeing the mission fulfilled through every area in the church, which consists of service gatherings, Small Groups, and our lifestyles.
We have a strong team of pastors who have been together for many years. There is a lead pastor at each location who carries out the vision of NC in each NC community. They are also the primary communicator at their location, except for Gulfport, where our Senior Pastor Jordan Ducote teaches about 75% of the time.
Northwood Church is devoted to creating gatherings with people from any background where they can grow a healthy relationship with God and find a place where they belong!
What’s it like to work at Northwood Church?
Every Northwood staff member’s goal is to carry out Northwood’s vision into their department or area of influence. This can be accomplished by being developers of people and not just doers.
We are friends more than we are co-workers by creating a culture where we are all working at a healthy pace that we can maintain long-term. If we are not healthy, we can’t lead others to be healthy. So our work schedule is flexible. We have specific office days or times during the week and other times where most can work remotely if they want.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for someone who wants to come and be an intricate part of our Creative department which consists of our worship and production teams. You would also be a part of the team that decides on graphics, videos, & special service elements for our Sunday services, Impact Student Ministry, and other NC events. Video editing & graphic design are also skills that would be added value. We are looking for someone with Christ-like character, competency in their skill, and chemistry with the team.
