Serve together. Meet real needs.
Mission Groups bring people together each semester to demonstrate the love of Jesus by serving our local communities. Whether you enjoy caring for people, working with your hands, or helping at community events, explore a Mission Group that fits your interests and abilities.

Start a Mission Group
Do you see a need, have a skill to share, or want to bring people together to serve? That could be the beginning of a Mission Group.
Connect with your Location Pastor and Missions Director to explore your idea and learn about the next steps, training, and support available.
Three Lanes. One Purpose.
Every Mission Group has a primary area of service, what we call a lane. These three lanes help you find a meaningful way to serve.
Care
Mission Groups in the Care Lane provide companionship, encouragement, and practical help with everyday needs for people experiencing isolation, hardship, or limited support.
Projects
Mission Groups in the Projects Lane build, repair, maintain, and restore homes and community spaces, meeting practical needs through hands-on work.
Community Events
Mission Groups in the Community Events Lane help cities, schools, and community organizations prepare for and carry out events that serve and bring people together.
Serving Across All Three Lanes
Mission Groups in any lane may serve with Local Mission Partners or help meet disaster-related needs, with guidance and coordination from the Missions Director.
What to Expect
Join for a semester. Mission Groups follow Northwood’s Spring and Fall Group semesters, with sign-ups opening alongside our other Groups.
Serve through Local Mission Projects. Each Mission Group completes at least three Local Mission Projects per semester. A project might be a care visit, a repair, or serving at a community event, not just construction.
Know the plan. Schedules vary by Group and project. Your Mission Group Leader will share dates, details, and any requirements so you can plan your participation and arrive ready to serve.
