The Lord is My Help

The Lord Is My Help Food Kitchen has been feeding the elderly, ill, disabled & indigent people in Jackson County since 1983. They serve 150 meals per day from their kitchen, around 100 of these daily meals are delivered to home-bound citizens. Northwood delivers their food supply monthly. It is not a big ask, but essential.

For over 50 years, the Home of Grace has served as a beacon of hope for those struggling with drug and alcohol addiction. Our highly effective, yet greatly affordable program has helped tens of thousands of men and women find freedom from their addiction. Every Friday, men and women graduate from the program. Volunteers are needed to give the “charge” to the graduates.
Our Daily Bread Food Pantry

Created in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in 2005, Our Daily Bread Food Pantry has continued to serve Stone County residents who need a helping hand. Volunteers are needed to help with food pantry operations.

A Volunteer Christian Community Ministry - Gulf Coast Community Ministries works to alleviate the nutritional, physical, and spiritual needs of impoverished people who live on the Mississippi Coast. Some volunteer jobs include food pantry operations, greeter, housekeeping, clothes closet helpers, prayer partners, yard maintenance, and handyman.

Gulf Coast Center For Nonviolence opened as a safe house in 1977, providing help to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Since then, the Center has grown to be the largest, most comprehensive program in the State of Mississippi. They serve the six southernmost counties of Mississippi: Jackson, Harrison, Hancock, Pearl River, George, and Stone Counties. They are always in need of community volunteers to help with donation pickup, child care and activities, working information booths and community events, or providing classes for their life skills group. Volunteers can also be trained to become sexual assault advocates.
